Tyler, The Creator isn’t here for rushed hot takes on his latest album, DON’T TAP THE GLASS.
The Grammy-winning rapper and producer took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out fans and media for jumping to conclusions barely hours after the project’s release.
“Y’all gotta stop doing this. Everyone tho,” he wrote in response to a tweet from @nfr_podcast asking followers to choose between CHROMAKOPIA and his new record.
“It hasn’t been 10 hours, just let it be what it is,” Tyler added.
“A Fun, Short, Urgent Album”
Tyler explained that DON’T TAP THE GLASS is meant to be experienced in the moment rather than picked apart immediately.
“A fun, short, upbeat, urgent, braggadocious album to a diary post about abortion and hair and aging and whatever else I was crying about, lol,” he tweeted.
“Please just let it rock if you rock with it, and if you don’t then move the damn on, lol.”
The album, which dropped to massive fanfare, is being praised for its experimental soundscapes and energetic vibe. But Tyler made it clear he didn’t create it for listeners to sit still and analyze every bar.
“It was not made for sitting still,” he shared. “Any type of movement is recommended to maybe understand the spirit of it.”
Secret $5 Show Sends Fans Into a Frenzy
To celebrate the release, Tyler surprised fans in Los Angeles with a $5 pop-up show, creating an electrifying, phone-free environment that fans are still buzzing about.
“Everyone was dancing. Moving. Expressing. Sweating,” Tyler wrote. “It felt like that pent-up energy finally got released.”
The intimate show perfectly matched the chaotic energy of DON’T TAP THE GLASS, offering attendees a rare chance to connect with the music and the artist without distractions.
Tyler’s Tour Keeps Rolling
While promoting the new album, Tyler is still in the middle of his CHROMAKOPIA Tour, which has been a massive success. He’s wrapping up a four-night run at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in New York City on Friday.
Next, the tour heads across North America before jumping overseas to Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and finishing in the Philippines with two dates at Manila’s Araneta Coliseum on September 20-21.
Fans Are Divided—But Tyler’s Unbothered
On social media, fans have shared mixed reactions about Tyler’s comments. Some are praising him for advocating patience and deeper listening, while others argue that online discourse is inevitable in today’s fast-paced music world.
But Tyler isn’t letting the noise get to him. His message is clear: enjoy the art or move on.
