Tragedy in Hollywood Hills: 15-year-old Celeste Rivas was found dead in the trunk of singer D4vd’s Tesla, and law enforcement sources reveal the teen had a history of running away due to a troubled home life.
According to LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division, Celeste had previously run away multiple times, prompting Riverside County authorities to investigate.
“There’s lots of evidence she comes from a troubled home, which may have triggered her repeated disappearances,” sources told TMZ.

The Lake Elsinore family reportedly contacted police at least twice to report Celeste missing. One local liquor store owner near her school bus pickup told TMZ that, on March 19, 2024, Celeste’s sister came by to review surveillance footage in an effort to trace Celeste’s steps.
Her middle school teacher added that Celeste had run away back in January 2024. Police eventually found her in the Hollywood Hills a month later and returned her home. Interestingly, this is the same area where D4vd resided.
Celeste went missing for the final time in April 2024, although it remains unclear whether her family contacted Hollywood authorities immediately after her disappearance.
Teenage Independence & Fake IDs
Sources indicate that Celeste was able to navigate the city on her own using multiple fake IDs, helping her appear older than her 15 years. Her independence may have made it easier for her to avoid detection, complicating the investigation.
Before police officially identified her body, TMZ received a tip linking Celeste to the victim found in D4vd’s Tesla. Her mother confirmed identifying details, including a red tattoo on her right index finger, and mentioned that Celeste was dating a boy named David. LAPD subsequently verified the teen’s identity.
The Ongoing Investigation
Law enforcement suspects Celeste may have been killed inside D4vd’s residence, prompting them to obtain a search warrant to investigate the home for blood evidence. Authorities have not yet revealed whether a suspect has been identified or if any arrests have been made.
“It’s a very sensitive case. Investigators are piecing together the teen’s life to understand how this tragedy unfolded,” sources said.
