Hip-hop heavyweights 50 Cent and Eminem might finally deliver the collaboration fans have been waiting for. During a recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Eminem reignited hopes for a joint album, calling the idea “possible” and declaring, “We gotta stop bullshittin’ and just do it.”
Shortly after, 50 Cent took to Instagram to signal his interest in the project. “Looks like I’ll be back in the booth after all! Just gotta do this residency in Vegas first,” he wrote, referencing his upcoming performances at PH Live in Planet Hollywood. The G-Unit founder is set to perform six shows between December 27 and January 4.
Talks of a Joint Album Gain Momentum
Rumors of a full-length collaboration between the longtime friends and collaborators have been circulating for months. Earlier this year, Eminem shared his enthusiasm for new music from 50 in another interview with DJ Whoo Kid. “I’m trying to get him to make a new album so bad,” he said. “We need another 50 album, like, really bad. He’s been on a roll since the [Final Lap] tour. Whatever he needs from me, I’m here. That shit’d be crazy, though—an album with me and him.”
Recent Collaborations and Nostalgic Stories
The pair recently teamed up on “Gunz N Smoke,” a standout track from Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s Missionary project. The track, featuring all four rap legends, paid homage to the late Notorious B.I.G. with a sample from his posthumous hit “Dead Wrong.” 50 Cent mirrored Biggie’s cadence in his verse, while Snoop gave nods to the iconic rapper through lyrics from “Notorious Thugs.”
Reflecting on his bond with Eminem, 50 Cent also shared a memorable story about their first meeting during an appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. “It was wild. I thought it was a prank,” 50 admitted. “Em flew me to L.A., and I came through the airport with a [bulletproof] vest on. He hugged me and said, ‘Yo, this is gonna be the biggest shit.’ He was so excited it made me question if it was real.”
What’s Next for 50 and Eminem?
With both artists expressing mutual interest, the possibility of a joint album feels closer than ever. Fans are eagerly speculating what such a project might entail, given the duo’s history of iconic collaborations, including hits like “Patiently Waiting” and “Crack a Bottle.”
As 50 Cent wraps up his Las Vegas residency, all eyes will be on whether these rap titans will finally make the dream a reality. For now, fans can only hope that their long-standing partnership leads to another groundbreaking chapter in hip-hop history.
