The assassination of conservative commentator and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk has now triggered a sweeping federal investigation — with law enforcement sources confirming to The Post that authorities are looking into whether far-left and pro-trans organizations may have had advance knowledge of the deadly plot.
The shocking new angle comes just days after 31-year-old Kirk was fatally shot during a student Q&A session at Utah Valley University — a brazen on-campus killing that has rocked political and cultural circles across the nation. His accused killer, Tyler Robinson, 22, was captured after a tense 33-hour manhunt and is expected to face formal murder charges this week.
But now, investigators are widening the lens, digging into Robinson’s ties to online gaming communities and activist groups that may have played a role in shaping, encouraging, or even facilitating the attack.
Feds Eye Steam & “Armed Queers SLC”
According to law enforcement insiders, part of the probe is focused on online networks like the gaming hub Steam, as well as a radical Salt Lake City-based organization called Armed Queers SLC.
The group — which promotes itself as a pro-trans, armed resistance collective — abruptly deleted its Instagram page in the days following Kirk’s assassination, raising suspicions.
Flyers obtained by the Young America’s Foundation show Armed Queers SLC had previously hosted lectures on “queer resistance” at the University of Utah, just 45 miles from the campus where Kirk was gunned down.
The imagery is striking: posters featuring a woman draped in ammo belts and wielding an AK-47, alongside rainbow flags, hammer-and-sickle logos, and the militant slogan “Agitate, Educate, Organize.”
In a 2023 interview, a spokesperson for the group admitted that their mission involved “commitment to something much bigger than ourselves … struggles against racism, transphobia, and capitalism.”

Social Media “Breadcrumbs” Raise Alarming Questions
Federal investigators are also tracking a trail of disturbing online posts made before Kirk’s assassination that now read like chilling warnings.
One since-deleted post from Sept. 9, just a day before the shooting, read:
“Charlie Kirk is coming to my college tomorrow, I rlly hope someone evaporates him literally.”
Another added cryptically:
“Let’s just say something big will happen tomorrow,” alongside a meme of a grinning dog.
Other accounts shared memes and commentary suggesting foreknowledge of the crime — though none of these claims have been independently verified. Still, the existence of such posts has added urgency to the federal probe.
Shooter’s Radicalization Under Scrutiny

Authorities believe Robinson was steeped in far-left ideology and radicalized online.
He was reportedly in a live-in relationship with a transgender partner, Lance Twiggs, who is said to be cooperating fully with investigators. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox confirmed Twiggs had “no idea” of Robinson’s plans.
Gov. Cox, speaking candidly on CNN and to the Wall Street Journal, said it’s clear Robinson had been “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology,” citing family conversations that exposed the extent of his political radicalization.
Kirk himself was an outspoken critic of gender ideology, hormone therapy for minors, and trans women competing in female sports — issues that had made him a flashpoint in America’s culture wars. Chillingly, he was killed while addressing a question about mass shootings involving trans individuals.

Trump, GOP Leaders, and the Nation React
The murder has left political figures and everyday Americans alike shaken.
Former President Donald Trump interrupted a Fox News interview to announce Robinson’s capture, declaring, “We have him.”
Meanwhile, vigils across the country — including a major one in Washington, D.C., attended by House Speaker Mike Johnson and presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — honored Kirk’s legacy, even as protests and counter-protests reflected his polarizing influence.
What Comes Next
Robinson is under “special watch” in a Utah jail as prosecutors prepare their case. But the broader investigation into his digital and political ties is just beginning.
Federal authorities are now tasked with answering the explosive question: Did Robinson act alone, or was Kirk’s assassination influenced — or even aided — by radical online networks?
For now, the case remains one of the most chilling examples of how internet subcultures and real-world ideology can collide with devastating, real-life consequences.
The Pop Radar will continue tracking updates on the Charlie Kirk investigation — including federal findings, court hearings, and the online fallout. Stay tuned for breaking details.
