A$AP Rocky has a message for Drake when it comes to Rihanna: move on.
During an interview on “The Jason Lee Show,” Rocky addressed what he sees as Drake’s continued focus on his past relationship with Rihanna, and he made it clear he finds the situation strange.
Rocky and Rihanna have long since moved forward with their relationship, while Drake and Rihanna’s on-again, off-again romance ended years ago.
For Rocky, that’s exactly why the subject keeps getting under his skin.
He said it is “weird” that he and Rihanna have moved on while Drake is “still strung up on that s***.”
Rocky also addressed the internet-fueled narratives surrounding the situation, arguing that fans can take pieces of information, build their own stories around them and then attack people from behind their keyboards.
And then there’s Drake’s apparent reference to Rihanna and Rocky’s album.
Rocky isn’t buying it.
A$AP Rocky Calls Drake’s Rihanna Focus “Weird”
Rocky’s comments came during his conversation with Jason Lee, where the rapper was asked about the ongoing tension surrounding Drake, Rihanna and himself.
Rocky did not hold back.
He questioned why Drake would still appear focused on Rihanna when he and Rihanna have moved on with their lives.
The two rappers have a complicated history, and Rocky has previously said his friendship with Drake is over.
But Rocky’s latest comments suggest he has no interest in reopening that relationship—or spending much time dwelling on it.
Instead, he appears to believe Drake should also leave the past behind.
The Rihanna connection has remained a recurring point of conversation because Drake and Rihanna were romantically linked on and off from 2009 to 2016.
Rihanna is now with Rocky, and the couple have built a family together.
From Rocky’s perspective, continuing to revisit the old relationship only keeps a chapter alive that he believes should already be closed.

Rocky Pushes Back on Drake’s Album Line
The conversation also turned to a line from one of Drake’s songs on his “Iceman” album, which Rocky interpreted as a reference to Rihanna not posting his album.
Rocky’s response was dismissive.
He essentially argued that Rihanna had no obligation to promote the project because she does not appear on it.
His reasoning was simple: if she’s not on the album, why would she need to post it?
Rocky also pointed out the potential downside if Rihanna had promoted the album and it subsequently performed well.
He imagined the criticism he could face from people accusing him of using his famous wife to boost his music.
In other words, Rocky believes Rihanna promoting the project could have created a completely different narrative—and possibly an even bigger headache.
Rather than getting caught up in the online debate, Rocky says he is dismissing the entire situation as “BS.”
Rocky Blames Internet Narratives for Fueling the Drama
Rocky also suggested that online fan culture has helped keep the tension alive.
According to the rapper, people on the internet can create their own narratives around celebrities and then use those narratives as ammunition.
The result, he says, is a cycle where fans speculate, argue and attack people without necessarily knowing what is happening behind the scenes.
That appears to be particularly frustrating for Rocky because his relationship with Rihanna is constantly viewed through the lens of her history with Drake.
For him, the situation is much simpler.
He and Rihanna have moved on.
He believes Drake should do the same.
The rapper’s comments also fit with his recent position on his own relationship with Drake.
A$AP Rocky Says the Drake Friendship Is Over
Rocky has previously acknowledged that his friendship with Drake is no longer what it once was.
He has even said recently that he does not feel the need to repair that relationship.
That stance makes his latest comments less about reconciliation and more about closure.
Rocky does not appear interested in rebuilding the friendship or continuing to revisit what happened between the two rappers.
Instead, he is publicly signaling that he has moved forward.
The same, he says, should apply to the Rihanna situation.
Whatever tension remains between Rocky and Drake, Rocky appears determined not to let it dictate his relationship with Rihanna or his career.
Rocky Is Looking Ahead
For Rocky, the Rihanna chapter is already part of the past.
He and Rihanna have moved forward, and he says he does not understand why Drake would remain focused on a relationship that ended years ago.
His criticism is therefore less about Rihanna herself and more about what he sees as Drake’s apparent inability to let the situation go.
Rocky also believes the internet has made the situation worse by turning isolated lyrics and moments into larger narratives.
Whether Drake agrees with that assessment is another question.
But Rocky’s position is clear.
He says his friendship with Drake is over, he has no desire to repair it right now, and he believes everyone involved would be better off moving forward.
As far as A$AP Rocky is concerned, the past is the past—and he’s ready for Drake to leave it there too.
