    The Weeknd Makes History with Most Songs in Spotify’s Billions Club

    Spotify is honoring The Weeknd’s incredible achievement of having the most songs reach one billion streams by hosting an exclusive concert for select fans in Los Angeles. Titled Spotify Presents Billions Club Live With The Weeknd, the event will take place on December 17 and feature the Canadian artist performing his biggest hits.

    The Weeknd’s setlist will include his 24+ songs that have reached Spotify’s Billions Club. Promising a unique experience, the “Popular” singer will “take fans through his many musical transformations unlike anything he’s done before.”

    Celebrating the Billions Club

    The Billions Club Live event is part of Spotify’s initiative to celebrate artists who surpass one billion streams on the platform. It highlights The Weeknd’s monumental impact on global music and his ability to connect with fans across eras of his career.

    RIAA Certifications and New Album News

    The Weeknd is closing out 2024 with a slew of accolades. He recently earned three new RIAA certifications, including:

    • Starboy album: 6x Platinum
    • “Starboy” single: 15x Platinum
    • “I Feel It Coming” single: 8x Platinum

    On top of these achievements, The Weeknd announced his next album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, will drop on January 24, 2025. The album is set to be his final project under the stage name The Weeknd and his first full-length release since Dawn FM in 2022.

    One-Night-Only Stadium Show and Film Debut

    To coincide with the album’s release, The Weeknd will stage a “massive one-night-only live stadium show” at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, on January 25, 2025. Adding to the excitement, the artist has signed a new distribution deal for a film adaptation of Hurry Up Tomorrow to be shown in theaters.

    In November, Lionsgate acquired the rights to the film, which will mark The Weeknd’s acting debut. The project promises to extend the themes of the album, further immersing fans in his creative vision.
