Ariana Grande may be stepping back from the spotlight, but she still has a few major commitments to handle before she can truly take a break.
Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ that Grande will continue working through the fall, including promotional appearances for her upcoming film Focker-In-Law, before finally getting some breathing room later this year.
The pop star is expected to participate in press for the Meet the Parents franchise sequel, in which she has a major role alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters in November.
The upcoming press run comes shortly after Grande announced that she planned to “take a step back from visibility” once her Eternal Sunshine tour wrapped on September 1.
But sources say the decision to step away was made with several existing professional commitments already on her calendar.
That includes promoting Focker-In-Law, meaning Grande won’t immediately disappear from public view once her tour ends.
Still, the movie’s press schedule is expected to be significantly lighter than the demanding touring schedule she has experienced in recent years.
Grande also has brand-related work commitments to handle throughout the fall.
Her workload is expected to remain relatively busy through November, when Focker-In-Law arrives in theaters. After that, sources say there is a major opening in her calendar.
And that could finally give Grande the downtime she has been signaling.
The singer and actress has been balancing an increasingly busy career across music and film, including her work on the Wicked movies and her recent Eternal Sunshine tour.
Sources say the promotional work for Focker-In-Law will be nothing compared with the grueling touring schedule associated with Wicked.
For now, Grande still has a few more months of work ahead.
But once November passes, the calendar reportedly opens up — giving Ariana the chance to step back, recharge and take that breather for real.
