The WWE Icon Was Cremated in Florida — Still Listed as a “Professional Wrestler”
Hulk Hogan went out the same way he lived — as one of the most legendary entertainers in history.
TMZ Sports has obtained Hulk Hogan’s official death certificate, and in a fitting final tribute, the document lists his occupation as professional wrestler in the entertainment industry. Even in death, the man who helped put wrestling on the global map is being remembered exactly how fans knew him: larger than life, forever in the ring.
🕊 Cremated in Florida After Fatal Cardiac Arrest
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Eugene Bollea, was cremated in Clearwater, Florida, according to the certificate. It confirms he passed away on July 24 following a cardiac arrest at his Clearwater home.
Emergency crews were called to his residence at 9:51 AM, and despite the efforts of paramedics and doctors, Hogan was sadly pronounced dead at a nearby hospital shortly after 11 AM.
💔 Cause of Death: Heart Attack
The document backs up previous reports that Hogan died of a heart attack. Medical records also showed he had atrial fibrillation, a serious heart condition that causes irregular heartbeat, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) — a form of cancer. However, it’s still unclear how advanced his leukemia was or how it may have contributed to his death.
📜 A Surreal Snapshot of a Wrestling Legend
While much of the death certificate includes expected information — birthdate, birthplace, race, education, parents’ names, and marital status — it’s still a surreal reminder that even legends must eventually rest.
It also lists his widow, Sky Daily Hogan, who married the wrestling icon in 2023, just two years before his passing.
🌍 A Global Outpouring of Grief
Since the heartbreaking news broke, the world has been mourning. Millions of fans have taken to social media to share memories and tributes — some posting clips of his most iconic matches, while others recalled the energy he brought to arenas around the globe.
Even former President Donald Trump — who was close to Hulk and appeared alongside him in WWE storylines — issued a public statement honoring his legacy.
🙏 WWE’s Emotional Tribute on RAW
Earlier this week, WWE honored Hogan with an emotional tribute during Monday Night RAW. His son Nick Hogan was present at the taping, visibly moved as the crowd erupted into a standing ovation in his father’s honor.
Video packages played throughout the night, showcasing Hogan’s unforgettable moments — from slamming André the Giant at WrestleMania III to waving the American flag in the ring to his signature catchphrase:
“Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?”
🎤 Final Goodbye to a Real-Life Superhero
Though the man is gone, the myth of Hulk Hogan — the bandana-wearing, 24-inch pythons-flexing icon of 1980s and ’90s pop culture — will never fade.
For decades, Hogan wasn’t just a wrestler. He was the wrestler — crossing over into film, television, and everyday conversation with an unmatched charisma and energy. He turned pro wrestling into mainstream spectacle and made “Hulkamania” a worldwide phenomenon.
Even in death, that’s how he’ll be remembered — and his official death certificate confirms it.
