TMZ Sports has obtained Hulk Hogan’s official death certificate, and in a fitting final tribute, the document lists his occupation as professional wrestler in the entertainment industry. Even in death, the man who helped put wrestling on the global map is being remembered exactly how fans knew him: larger than life, forever in the ring.
Cremated in Florida After Fatal Cardiac Arrest
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Eugene Bollea, was cremated in Clearwater, Florida, according to the certificate. It confirms he passed away on July 24 following a cardiac arrest at his Clearwater home.
Emergency crews were called to his residence at 9:51 AM, and despite the efforts of paramedics and doctors, Hogan was sadly pronounced dead at a nearby hospital shortly after 11 AM.
Cause of Death: Heart Attack
The document backs up previous reports that Hogan died of a heart attack. Medical records also showed he had atrial fibrillation, a serious heart condition that causes irregular heartbeat, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) — a form of cancer. However, it’s still unclear how advanced his leukemia was or how it may have contributed to his death.
