“Full House” fans were overjoyed when Dave Coulier announced he’s cancer-free, but the path to recovery was far from easy.
In a recent interview with Fox 2 Detroit, Coulier opened up about his battle with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, highlighting the unwavering support from his wife, Melissa Bring, as well as old friends from the show.
“Tough times reveal the character of the person you marry,” Coulier said. “Melissa showed up for me time and time again. I honestly think it’s harder on the spouse than on the person going through treatment sometimes.”
John Stamos and Jeff Franklin Step Up
Coulier also praised former Full House co-star John Stamos and creator Jeff Franklin, who flew out to Michigan to visit him and offer support.
Stamos, who caught COVID during the trip, couldn’t be in the same room due to Coulier’s weakened immune system from chemotherapy. But that didn’t stop him from showing up:
“He just Facetimed me from the other room to lift my spirits. It meant the world,” Coulier shared.
The gesture, combined with Franklin’s presence, gave Coulier a sense of family and friendship that extended far beyond the set of the iconic 90s sitcom.

The Challenges of Chemotherapy
Coulier also didn’t shy away from discussing the hardships of chemotherapy, including a scary stint in the ICU for several days.
“There were times it was really rough… moments I didn’t think I’d get through,” he admitted.
His experience underscores the emotional and physical toll of cancer, but he credits his support system—Melissa, Stamos, Franklin, and his loved ones—for keeping him strong.
Cancer-Free and Grateful
Earlier this year, Coulier shared the uplifting news that he’s now cancer-free, a milestone he says wouldn’t have been possible without his network of support.
“Having people who care, who show up, who love you unconditionally—that’s what gets you through the darkest moments,” he said.
Fans have flooded social media with love for Coulier, praising his openness and gratitude, while also celebrating the enduring bond he shares with his Full House family.
