Big Eye Starboss was arrested during the unrest that broke out during the Kawempe North by-election. Reports indicate that the musician, alongside his driver and several individuals connected to the National Unity Platform (NUP), was taken into police custody.
The situation escalated as security forces clashed with journalists and NUP supporters, heightening tensions in the area. The NUP Secretary General has confirmed that Big Eye is still being detained at Kawempe Police Station.
At this stage, the reason for Big Eye’s arrest and any potential charges remain unclear, though the incident took place amidst the ongoing by-election violence.
Big Eye, who joined the NUP last year, has also expressed his intent to run for the parliamentary seat in Nansana Municipality in the upcoming elections.
