Jodi Vance, a rising bodybuilder, tragically passed away at the age of 20 following a medical emergency on February 27. New details, revealed through a 911 call obtained by TMZ Sports, shed light on the moments leading up to her untimely death.
In the distressing call, placed by Vance’s wife, the couple was staying at a hotel in Columbus, Ohio, for the Arnold Sports Festival. Vance had been vomiting throughout the morning and was unresponsive by the time her wife sought emergency help.
According to the audio, Vance’s wife told the dispatcher that the bodybuilder had been “passed out in bed” and was unresponsive despite their attempts to wake her. She explained, “She won’t wake up,” and added that Vance had been groaning and vomiting before losing consciousness. The dispatcher assured her help was on the way, but sadly, Vance was pronounced dead shortly after.
Cause of Death: Severe Dehydration
In a statement issued on social media, Vance’s family confirmed the tragic cause of death. They explained that her “heart stopped due to complications of severe dehydration,” which contributed to the devastating outcome.
