Cam’ron Slams Kanye West’s Molestation Confession as “Convenient” Stunt for Clout
Cam’ron is calling out Kanye West over his latest shocking revelation, accusing the rapper of using personal trauma as a marketing stunt to boost album sales.
On April 21, 2025, Kanye West stirred controversy yet again after posting on X about allegedly molesting his male cousin during childhood.
In the same breath, he released a new track titled “COUSIN,” where he raps about discovering gay magazines in his mother’s closet and reenacting what he saw with his younger relative.
The confession, coupled with the song drop, immediately set the internet ablaze—but not everyone is buying it.
Cam’ron: “N***as Be Conveniently Gay”
Speaking on the latest episode of his sports talk show It Is What It Is, Cam’ron, who famously collaborated with Kanye on the track “Down & Out,” didn’t hold back.
“N***as be conveniently gay. It’s like, ‘Yo let’s be gay now for a little while ‘cause it’s poppin.’ So now let’s talk about when I was gay one time,” Cam’ron said bluntly.
He went on to question Kanye’s timing and authenticity:
“Kanye been in the public eye for at least going on 20 years, if not longer, and now you gay or had gay acts? Shit ain’t working.”
According to Cam, the timing feels suspiciously aligned with Kanye’s struggling public image and career.
“Hitler Last Month, KKK Three Weeks Ago, Now This?”
Cam’ron didn’t stop there. He took further shots at Ye’s string of controversies, implying that West’s confession is just another calculated stunt:
“Everything he got going on ain’t seem to be working. He was Hitler last month, then he was KKK about three weeks ago, and now he molested his cousin and he gonna do a song about it. It’s just too convenient.”
Cam suggested that Kanye is hopping from one controversy to the next in a desperate attempt to stay relevant and generate buzz around his music.
Cam’ron’s Longstanding Criticism of Kanye West
This isn’t the first time Cam’ron has publicly criticized Kanye.
In a 2023 interview on All The Smoke with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Cam accused Ye of manipulating the public perception of his mental health:
“Kanye, he play crazy with who he wanna play crazy with… that n***a’s crazy when it’s convenient,” Cam’ron said at the time.
He also shared that in private, Kanye always seemed “perfectly fine” and even expressed interest in working together again, contradicting the chaotic image Kanye often portrays publicly.
Social Media Reaction
Following Cam’ron’s comments, social media platforms like X, Instagram, and TikTok exploded with debates.
- Some fans applauded Cam’ron for calling out what they see as Kanye’s “manipulative marketing.”
- Others defended Kanye, arguing that personal trauma is complex and shouldn’t be dismissed outright.
Regardless, the controversy once again places Kanye West at the center of a cultural firestorm—and keeps the spotlight firmly on his every move as fans, critics, and fellow artists weigh in.
