Cinderella ‘Cindy’ Sanyu, one of Uganda’s most prominent female artists, has named five up-and-coming female talents whom she believes have the potential to take over from the older generation and shape the future of Ugandan music.

In a recent TikTok live broadcast on Monday, Cindy expressed her admiration for the new generation of female artists who, she feels, are carrying the torch for dancehall music in Uganda. She noted that while they still have room for growth and refinement, these artists show immense promise and could evolve into the industry’s next big stars.

Here are the five female artists Cindy believes have the potential to succeed in the music industry:

1. Vinka (Swangz Avenue)

Cindy praised Swangz Avenue’s Vinka for her growth in both stage performance and vocal ability. “I’ve watched her on stage, and there’s so much improvement, not just in her performance, but also in the way her vocals sound. She sounds way better now,” Cindy commented. She further emphasized Vinka’s humility as one of her key attributes and believes her future in the music industry is very bright.

2. Nandor Love

According to Cindy, Nandor Love stands out for her songwriting prowess. “I like the chic. I don’t know her personally, but I really like the music that she writes. She’s a good writer, and I think she has the current sound,” Cindy noted. She believes Nandor has the right qualities to rise to the top with her strong writing skills and musical style.

3. Jacorda

Cindy highlighted Jacorda, particularly her infectious dancehall style, and expressed disappointment in her brief hiatus after the release of her breakout single Mateeka in 2024. “She did a song and caught my attention, then she just disappeared,” Cindy said. Despite her absence, Cindy believes Jacorda still has great potential to make a lasting impact in the industry.

4. Omega 256

Based in Western Uganda, Omega 256 has steadily gained attention for her unique musical style. Cindy urged Ugandans to pay more attention to her, noting, “She’s not from the city, but I think she has great potential. We need to give her a chance.” Cindy believes that Omega has something special to offer the music scene, and her talent deserves more recognition.

5. Karole Kasita

Cindy’s mentorship of Karole Kasita has been well-documented, and she continues to believe in Karole’s immense potential. “She has great potential. She doesn’t have a single boring song, hit or no hit,” Cindy shared. Karole’s consistency and artistry have made her one of Cindy’s most trusted protégés, and Cindy sees her as an artist with an exciting future.

Cindy’s endorsement of these artists reflects her optimism about the future of Ugandan music, especially within the dancehall genre. With these up-and-coming talents, the industry is bound to experience a wave of fresh energy and creativity, taking it to new heights.
