Coi Leray is embracing motherhood with grace and excitement as she prepares to welcome her first child with rapper Trippie Redd. With her 28th birthday approaching on May 11th, the chart-topping artist has more than one reason to celebrate.
In an exclusive interview with The Shade Room, the “Players” rapper shared intimate details about her pregnancy, including her daughter’s unique name, her physical changes, and how motherhood has transformed her life.
Baby Miyoco: A Name Full of Meaning
Coi revealed her baby girl will be named Miyoco, a name that holds personal and symbolic significance.
“The name was inspired by a friend’s sister and means ‘beautiful child,’” Coi explained. “But it also kind of has me and her father’s name tied together — ‘Mi’ from Michael (Trippie Redd’s real name), and ‘Co’ from Coi.”
Pregnancy Revelation: “God’s Timing Is Always on Time”
Coi Leray recalled the emotional moment she discovered she was expecting:
“I was feeling sick, missed my period… I took a pregnancy test and was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I was excited. I’m getting older now, and I think God’s time is always on time.”
Lifestyle Overhaul: Sober, Focused, and Strong
Since learning she was pregnant, Coi says she has completely turned her lifestyle around — going 100% sober and quitting both weed and alcohol.
“My mind is so much more clear now,” she shared.
Physically, pregnancy has brought noticeable changes and challenges.
“I could barely walk right now. I’m running out of breath,” she said with a laugh.
Her beauty routine has also shifted due to dry skin and scalp issues:
“Moisturizing is everything.”
Family Support and Benzino’s Role
Despite past public tensions with her father Benzino, Coi says she’s felt strong family support throughout her pregnancy journey:
“I’m the only girl… my brothers and all the men in my family… I feel very protected by them.”
She even joked that her body transformation has her family teasing her:
“They like, ‘Girl, did you get a little BBL?’”
As she awaits the arrival of baby Miyoco, Coi Leray stands as a symbol of growth, grace, and gratitude—embracing motherhood while entering a new chapter of her life and career.
