Dr. Michael Salzhauer — the celebrity plastic surgeon better known as Dr. Miami — is no stranger to famous faces and the cosmetic trends they spark. But while he’s grateful for the business celebs like Kylie Jenner bring to his operating table, he’s calling out some stars for not keeping it all the way real about what they’ve had done.
The world-famous doc is applauding those who’ve recently opened up about their surgeries — including Kylie, who made waves this month after replying to a TikTok comment about her breast augmentation. But in the same breath, he’s making it clear that not every star is telling the full story.
Kylie’s Breast Augmentation: “It Wasn’t Puberty”
In a recent interview, Dr. Miami didn’t mince words when it came to Kylie’s transformation — particularly her chest.
“She looked great, but let’s be honest. We saw her when she was younger. There was nothing there. Then boom — at 19, she had breasts,” he said.
“That’s not puberty. That’s surgery.”
Kylie recently confirmed she got her breasts done before having her daughter, Stormi, when she was just 19. She also admitted she regrets doing it so young, saying she wouldn’t recommend it to others. But Dr. Miami believes that while she’s taken a step in the right direction, she’s still skimming over some truths — particularly when it comes to everything else she may have done.
The BBL Conversation: “Technically True, But Misleading”
Dr. Miami believes Kylie is also sidestepping facts about her famous curves. She has publicly claimed she doesn’t have implants in her butt, but according to him, that doesn’t mean she didn’t enhance it in other ways.
“She’s said she doesn’t have implants, and that may be true. But what about a BBL?”
“Not saying it’s bad to do it — but let’s not pretend it didn’t happen.”
A Brazilian Butt Lift, or BBL, uses fat from other parts of the body to sculpt the buttocks — no silicone implants required. So technically, Kylie isn’t lying when she says she has no “implants,” but Dr. Miami says omitting other procedures is still misleading.
Why This Matters: Real People Are Using Celeb References to Choose Surgery
According to Dr. Miami, when celebrities — especially mega-influencers like Kylie — admit to specific procedures, it often helps destigmatize plastic surgery. It also arms new patients with knowledge.
But there’s a downside.
“People come in speaking fluent surgeon slang now,” he laughs.
“They know exactly what they want — sometimes down to the cc.”
Unfortunately, this trend of copy-and-paste surgery can be risky. What looks stunning on one celeb might not flatter someone else’s body type at all. The biggest problem, according to Dr. Miami, is people using influencer reference photos as their end-all-be-all goal, without realizing surgery results are deeply personal.
Who’s the New Plastic Surgery Muse? It’s Not Who You Think
Surprisingly, Dr. Miami says people aren’t bringing in pictures of A-list celebrities as much anymore.
“It’s mostly mid-level internet influencers with more natural-looking results,” he shares.
“They’ve had work done, but it doesn’t scream ‘plastic.’ That’s the look people want now.”
Still, Kylie Jenner’s name is back on top thanks to her recent transparency — however partial it may be. Her cosmetic journey has long influenced trends in lips, hips, and everything in between, and every admission reignites public curiosity and appointment requests.
Final Thoughts: Honesty Helps, But Half-Truths Hurt
Dr. Miami’s message isn’t to shame celebrities — he actually appreciates their openness, especially when it helps normalize self-improvement and removes the taboo around surgery.
But his call to action is clear: Be honest. Be specific. And remember your influence.
“When someone as famous as Kylie speaks out, it doesn’t just go viral — it creates trends. And people should have the full story before following those trends into an operating room.”
