Jason Kelce recently opened up about his younger brother, Travis Kelce, and the “staggering” impact Taylor Swift has had on his life. On Tuesday’s episode of the Fitz & Whit podcast, Jason shared his thoughts with former NFL stars Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andrew Whitworth, noting how much Travis has changed since starting his relationship with the pop sensation nearly two years ago.
Jason explained that he’s witnessed a significant transformation in Travis, who, in the past, had a carefree, “Peter Pan and the Lost Boys” vibe. Now, he says, “it’s changing,” and the presence of someone like Taylor in Travis’ life has had a positive effect.
“I think sometimes you get people in your life that maybe get that out of you, and that’s a good thing,” Jason said, subtly nodding to his brother’s romance with Swift.
The conversation was prompted by Fitzpatrick’s observation of Travis before his relationship with Taylor, mentioning that when he visited Travis, the NFL star’s home was surprisingly devoid of couches.
Despite this, Jason assured fans that while his brother has matured, he still maintains his youthful spirit. He added that Travis’ persona hasn’t entirely shifted, and he still embodies that “youthful enthusiasm.”
As for Travis’ future, there’s speculation that the 35-year-old might retire soon, following the Chiefs’ loss in the Super Bowl against the Eagles on February 9. Only time will tell if this season will be his last on the field.
