Wrestling legend Mick Foley is counting his blessings after walking away from a terrifying car accident last week with only minor injuries — and he’s giving thanks to Lady Luck, divine intervention, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for helping him through it.
Foley, 59, revealed to TMZ Sports that he flipped his car while driving through Florida on April 1. The wreck left his vehicle looking mangled beyond belief, but somehow, Foley walked away with just “scratches, bumps, and bruises.”
“Things could have been a lot worse,” Foley said, still nursing some upper body soreness.
The Rock Reached Out
The WWE Hall of Famer shared that while recovering in the hospital, he was touched by a message from his longtime friend and fellow wrestling icon The Rock, who checked in to make sure he was okay.
Foley and Johnson famously shared the ring multiple times during WWE’s Attitude Era, and the mutual respect between them clearly runs deep. Foley called out The Rock personally in his thank-you message, showing appreciation for the support during such a frightening moment.
A True Professional
Despite the accident and his hospital stay, Foley proudly shared that he didn’t miss a single day of work, proving once again why he’s known for his resilience and dedication. Whether it’s the ring or real life, Foley always shows up.
A Life-Saving Message
Foley closed out his statement with an important PSA: wear your seatbelt. He believes buckling up played a huge role in saving him from more serious injuries during the crash.
“If there’s a lesson to be learned,” he said, “it’s buckle up for safety.”
