Kalifah Aganaga faced a challenging political battle in the Kawempe North parliamentary by-election, securing fifth place with a total of 239 votes under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) banner.
The by-election was won by Elias Nalukoola of the National Unity Platform (NUP), who triumphed with a commanding 17,764 votes.
Despite his loss, Aganaga took to social media to graciously accept the results, congratulating Nalukoola for his victory. He wrote: “Congratulations, comrade, you deserve it. It was indeed a great fight. I believe you are going to work for the people of Kawempe North and Ugandans, and fight for the rights of the common man against all injustices. Congra Congra.”
Meanwhile, Muhammad Lusswa Luwemba, former PA to the late Muhammad Ssegirinya, narrowly surpassed Aganaga by just one vote, securing 240 votes.
