Kanye West is reportedly preparing to sue his former dentist, Dr. Thomas P. Connelly, over alleged reckless and dangerous use of nitrous oxide, which he claims led to serious physical, psychological, and financial harm.
According to a legal notice of intent to sue, filed by Ye’s attorney Andrew Cherkasky, the rapper began receiving treatment from Dr. Connelly in early 2024. During this period, Kanye’s team alleges that the dentist engaged in unethical practices—including administering excessive nitrous oxide, encouraging unsupervised self-use, and ignoring clear warning signs of a developing dependency.
Claims of Medical Misconduct
The legal filing accuses Dr. Connelly of continuing treatment even after Ye showed adverse neurological and behavioral symptoms, and later abandoning his care without proper medical transition once complications arose.
“These actions were far outside the bounds of any legitimate medical purpose or standard of care,” the legal team states.
The alleged mistreatment not only affected Kanye’s health and finances but also reportedly impacted his personal life. His wife, Bianca Censori, is said to have suffered due to the situation, losing Kanye’s “companionship” as he battled addiction stemming from the dental treatments.
Milo Yiannopoulos: Ye Was Obsessive About the Gas
Adding to the controversy, Ye’s former chief of staff Milo Yiannopoulos previously claimed that the rapper spoke obsessively about nitrous oxide during meetings, often becoming erratic and giving confusing instructions to his staff. Milo accused Connelly of supplying Ye with nitrous oxide in exchange for money.
Dr. Connelly, however, denied those accusations, calling them “factually incorrect and intentionally misleading,” and suggested that Yiannopoulos was merely seeking attention.
Connelly Served, Lawsuit Looms
Dr. Connelly has already been served with the notice of legal action. As of now, he has not issued a new public response to Kanye’s latest claims. The case could move forward soon if West’s team proceeds with the official lawsuit.
