Police Allege Gang Violence and Retaliatory Strike Following Rapper’s Shoot
Lil Baby is facing serious accusations in connection with the deaths of two teenagers killed in Atlanta last year, with police tying the fatal shootings to a gunfire incident that occurred during the rapper’s video shoot in May 2024. The police claim that the video shoot sparked a gang conflict, which ultimately escalated into several shootings and homicides, including the tragic deaths of 13-year-olds Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman in July 2024.
Gang Conflict and Retribution Behind Teenagers’ Deaths
According to investigators, the deaths of Davis and Freeman were a result of a retaliatory hit orchestrated by a “high-ranking” rival gang member from a Georgia prison. The two teens, described as innocent bystanders, were allegedly caught in the crossfire during the gang-related violence.
At a press conference held on Wednesday (February 26), Major Ralph Woolfolk directed strong criticism at Lil Baby, calling him a “coward” and accusing him of fueling the violence. “Lamon Freeman was allowed to be a 13-year-old for 27 minutes before gang violence ultimately took his life. Gang violence that was orchestrated by adults,” Woolfolk said. He added, “And the cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go over into a rival gang stronghold and shoot a music video in a place that he knew he should not have been.”
Accusations Directed at Lil Baby
Woolfolk further emphasized that the rapper knew the risks involved and warned, “You know who you are. And I’ll tell you that this team will work relentlessly to hold you and the persons that you are affiliated with responsible for those actions.” A $50,000 reward has been offered for information related to the case.
Shooting During Video Shoot
The shooting occurred during Lil Baby’s video shoot in May, which left three men wounded by gunfire. While Lil Baby was unharmed, three individuals suffered injuries to their chest, arm, and neck. Thankfully, all of the victims survived and fully recovered.
Reports from TMZ indicate that the gunfire erupted as a result of a dispute between two rival parties during the shoot, which featured members of Baby’s Quality Control label. As tensions flared, gunfire broke out, leaving bystanders—including the two teenagers—caught in the crossfire.
This incident is not the first time Lil Baby has found himself at the center of a shooting. In 2023, during a show in Memphis, bullets rang out, critically injuring a man identified as CEO Jizzle, a cousin of the late rapper Young Dolph.
The investigation into the shooting and its aftermath is ongoing, with authorities continuing to search for further information.
