A tragic loss has struck the Loyola High School community after 18-year-old Braun Levi, a standout tennis player and senior student, was killed early Sunday morning when an alleged drunk driver struck him in Manhattan Beach, California.
According to the Manhattan Beach Police Department (MBPD), officers responded to a call at 12:46 AM about a vehicle-pedestrian collision in the 100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered Levi lying on the street beside the vehicle involved. He was immediately transported to a local trauma center, but sadly, despite life-saving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
A Star On and Off the Court
Levi was a Loyola High School senior, known for his excellence both academically and athletically. He was a team captain and four-year varsity starter for the Loyola tennis team, having just secured his fourth consecutive league title on April 29.

Suspect Arrested for DUI
The driver in the fatal crash has been identified as 33-year-old Jenia Belt, who has been arrested on suspicion of DUI. Authorities say she may face additional charges related to Levi’s death as the investigation remains ongoing.
