“I’ve noticed people becoming bolder, especially on platforms like X,” Melissa said, referencing the platform formerly known as Twitter. “Sometimes it’s not even DMs—people quote tweets with comments that make me think, ‘You guys are very brave.’”
However, one DM, in particular, stood out for its sheer audacity. Melissa recounted an incident where a man approached her on Instagram with an unusual request—to be her “slave.”
“I said, excuse me?! What do you mean?” she recalled with a laugh. “I mean, you were freed by my people many years ago.”
