NBA YoungBoy is gearing up for the release of his new album, ‘More Leaks’, as he inches closer to regaining his freedom. His team took to the rapper’s company Instagram page to announce the project, revealing that it will drop on March 7th. Fans won’t have to wait long for new music, as the first single is set to be released on Friday, February 28th.
The announcement came with a cryptic caption: “Last project before TOP is back,” signaling that this could be YoungBoy’s final release before he is officially out of prison. The album title suggests it may feature a collection of previously leaked songs, giving fans a mix of unreleased material.
NBA YoungBoy’s Legal Troubles and Prison Sentence
YoungBoy’s incarceration stems from a gun possession charge and his involvement in a prescription medication fraud scheme. He took a plea deal in September 2024, admitting to possessing multiple illegal firearms while filming a music video in Baton Rouge back in 2020.
Initially, he was sentenced to 23 months in prison, five years of probation, and a $200,000 fine, along with the forfeiture of the firearms. However, the agreement was later modified, granting him time served until May 2024, effectively setting him up for an early release on July 27th, 2025.
YoungBoy also pleaded guilty to fraud and forgery charges, but as part of his plea deal, those charges were reduced to misdemeanors. This resulted in a $25,000 fine with no additional jail time. The judge overseeing the case emphasized that the decision was made to give the rapper a second chance to rebuild his life.
A Busy Year Despite Legal Issues
Even behind bars, NBA YoungBoy has maintained a steady flow of new music, dropping ‘I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders’ in December 2024 as his first album of the year. With ‘More Leaks’ on the way, he continues to keep his fans engaged as they eagerly await his return to the industry.
As July 27th approaches, all eyes will be on NBA YoungBoy to see how he navigates his post-prison career and whether he can steer clear of further legal troubles.
