A fresh new trailer for the upcoming “Superman” film has fans buzzing, offering an extended look at Krypto the Superdog and a deeper glimpse into the iconic Fortress of Solitude. Released on Thursday, the five-minute trailer builds upon the December teaser but adds plenty of new content that promises to elevate the excitement for the film’s July release.
More Krypto, More Fun
The first three and a half minutes of the trailer revisit the original clip’s opening scene, where Superman, portrayed by David Corenswet, relies on his loyal dog Krypto to rescue him. However, the new trailer adds a fun twist — instead of simply helping Superman to safety, Krypto shows off his playful, big-dog energy, jumping on his owner and even biting his arms in a lovable, yet chaotic display of affection.
The Fortress of Solitude and Super Injuries
Eventually, Krypto drags Superman to the Fortress of Solitude, where a group of helpful robots tend to his serious injuries — including 14 broken bones and damage to his internal organs. The trailer highlights the intensity of Superman’s condition as the robots use radiation from the sun to heal him, though it’s clear that the hero’s recovery isn’t without its pain.
Familiar Faces and New Scenes
The rest of the trailer includes familiar scenes, such as glimpses of Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor and Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner, along with additional content from the original footage. Fans can expect more of the same thrilling action, but with a few added surprises to keep them on their toes.
Major Marketing Push
Warner Bros. is backing this release with a big marketing campaign, including plans to feature the trailer before every screening of the highly anticipated A Minecraft Movie. Only time will tell if this strategy boosts the film’s popularity or if the reboot of Superman becomes another challenge for the DC universe.
“Superman“ is set to hit theaters on July 11, and with the trailer showing off some exciting new content, it looks like it will be a summer blockbuster worth watching.
