Newly released surveillance footage is shedding light on the final hours of University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki, who vanished in the Dominican Republic on March 6. The footage, obtained by Noticias SIN, shows Konanki and Joshua Riibe, the man authorities have labeled a “person of interest” in her disappearance, at a bar just hours before she was last seen.
The video, recorded at the Riu República Hotel in Punta Cana, captures Konanki in all-white clothing, walking toward a grassy area and appearing to lean over, seemingly to vomit. She then walks over to a friend and can be seen energetically jumping up and down. Meanwhile, Riibe, who is identified as being hunched over the grass near Konanki, also appears to be retching, though the two never interact in the footage.
Additional Surveillance Footage Raises Questions:
Noticias SIN also acquired additional security footage showing Konanki and her friend wandering around the hotel lobby. The video ends with the two stepping out of the frame, leaving investigators with more questions than answers about her whereabouts in the hours before her disappearance.
The videos were captured around the same time Konanki went missing in the early hours of March 6, after a walk along the beach with Riibe, who was the last person seen with her. Authorities have not found Konanki’s body but believe she may have drowned in the ocean, though they have not ruled out foul play.
Investigations and Riibe’s Inconsistent Statements:
