3:00 PM PT Update: Contrary to earlier reports suggesting a potential snub, the Philadelphia Eagles have no issues with President Donald Trump’s administration and would be “honored” to visit the White House. NFL insiders now report that the reigning Super Bowl champions are “excited about” the opportunity and “look forward” to receiving an official invitation. The ball is now in President Trump’s court!

Philadelphia Eagles Await White House Invitation Following Super Bowl Victory

The Philadelphia Eagles have not formally declined a visit to the White House following their dominant Super Bowl LIX win—because an official invitation has yet to be extended, TMZ Sports has learned.

Speculation about the Eagles rejecting a potential White House visit began circulating well before their victory against the Kansas City Chiefs on February 9, 2025. Pre-Super Bowl reports claimed that if Jalen Hurts and company emerged victorious, they would opt out of the traditional championship visit to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

However, sources close to the White House confirm that President Donald Trump has not yet extended an invitation to the team. Given the Eagles’ history with Trump’s administration, their decision on whether to attend remains a topic of debate.

Super Bowl LIX: Eagles Dismantle Chiefs’ Dynasty Dreams

The Eagles showcased their dominance in Super Bowl LIX, delivering a crushing 40-22 victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Their performance not only secured their second franchise championship but also prevented the Chiefs from achieving an unprecedented three-peat in NFL history.

Jalen Hurts, who was instrumental in the team’s success, has not publicly commented on a potential White House visit. However, Eagles star Lane Johnson previously stated that he would be open to the idea, leaving the final decision to a team-wide vote.

A History of White House Controversy

This isn’t the first time the Eagles have been at the center of political controversy regarding a White House invitation. Following their 2018 Super Bowl LII victory, the team was set to visit the White House during Trump’s first term. However, after several players spoke out against the president, the visit was ultimately canceled by the administration.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie remained noncommittal when asked about a potential White House visit before this year’s Super Bowl, leaving fans and analysts wondering how the team would respond if invited.

Past NFL Teams and White House Visits

Over the years, various NFL champions have approached White House invitations differently. The Kansas City Chiefs, under coach Andy Reid, visited President Joe Biden in 2023 after winning Super Bowl LVII. However, Trump’s presidency has seen several teams opt out of the tradition, citing political differences.

As of now, the Eagles have not publicly addressed the matter, and their final decision remains unknown. With reports now indicating a willingness to attend, all eyes are on the White House to see if and when an official invite is sent.

What’s Next?

As speculation swirls, fans eagerly await an official statement from the Eagles regarding their stance on the visit. If an invitation is extended, the team’s response will likely generate significant media attention and spark debates across the sports and political worlds.

For now, the Eagles remain focused on celebrating their championship victory while the world watches to see if they’ll make their way to Washington, D.C., to continue the Super Bowl tradition.
