TMZ has confirmed the arrest of a second suspect in the devastating murder of rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his five-year-old daughter, R’Mani.
Jakobie Russell, 21, was arrested on Friday and charged with capital murder of multiple persons, assault of a pregnant person, and assault causing bodily harm. Russell is currently being held at the Lon Evans Corrections Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
His arrest comes just one day after his alleged accomplice, 24-year-old Adonis Robinson, was taken into custody in Livingston, Texas, about 75 miles outside of Houston.
The two men are believed to have been responsible for the brutal shooting that occurred at a car wash in Forrest Hills, a suburb near Fort Worth, on Monday. According to police, the suspects arrived in a white Kia, exited the vehicle, and began firing multiple rounds into the car, fatally shooting R’Mani. G$ Lil Ronnie, who was also targeted, was seen in shocking security footage running for his life before he, too, was shot and killed by the assailants.
Officers responded to the scene shortly after the shooting, but tragically, neither victim could be saved.
Forrest Hills Police Chief David Hernandez condemned the actions of the suspects, calling them “cowards” in a statement earlier this week.
The case has left the community in shock as investigators continue to piece together the details surrounding this senseless tragedy.
