As immigration tensions flare across Los Angeles, The Game is standing firmly with protesters. On Monday, June 9th, the Compton rapper took to Instagram to express solidarity with Black and Brown communities following aggressive ICE crackdowns that have ignited widespread demonstrations throughout the city.
“We’ve Shared Los Angeles for a Long Time”
The Game posted a series of black-and-white photos from the protests, along with a heartfelt caption reflecting on the unity between Black and Latino communities in L.A.
“Ever since I could remember… it’s been Black & Brown in this city,” he wrote.
“From the early days of my childhood ‘til now, we’ve been side by side through it all… I stand with y’all like I know you’d stand with us.”
Quoting Tupac, he added:
“‘We might fight against each other… but I promise you this… we’ll burn this b!%?! down get us pissed!!!!!’ To live & die in L.A.”
Fans Applaud The Game for Speaking Up
The rapper’s post quickly went viral, with fans applauding his willingness to use his platform to support the community.
“Meanwhile Snoop Dogg entertaining the king… thanks for using your platform,” one user commented.
Another fan added, “You always speak about unity. My respect for you.”
ICE Raids Spark Protests, Unrest & Arrests
The protests were triggered by mass ICE raids across Los Angeles, including the highly criticized arrest of union leader David Huerta, who was accused of interfering with an operation. The crackdown led to chaos on the streets:
- Self-driving cars were set on fire
- Police deployed tear gas, rubber bullets, and flash-bangs
- Thousands of protesters marched in defiance
According to CBS News, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell confirmed that 39 arrests were made over the weekend.
Trump Calls for Troops Amid Protests
Amid the growing unrest, former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social, escalating tensions even further.
“Looking really bad in L.A. BRING IN THE TROOPS!!!” he wrote.
His comments sparked outrage, as many saw it as an unnecessary escalation to an already volatile situation.
