Uganda is gearing up to host the 9th edition of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) from May 21 to 24, 2025, a prestigious event that will further cement its position as a top-tier travel destination. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities in collaboration with the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), and Talent Africa, this highly anticipated expo will take place at the scenic Speke Resort Munyonyo.
A Landmark Event for Uganda’s Tourism Industry
Under the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” POATE 2025 will spotlight Uganda’s commitment to responsible tourism and economic growth. The expo will serve as a networking hub for tourism stakeholders, investors, and travel enthusiasts, fostering collaborations that drive the sector forward.
Building upon the success of the 2024 edition, POATE 2025 aims to attract a larger international audience, offering an immersive experience of Uganda’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and diverse wildlife.
‘Tell Your Story – Explore Uganda’ Campaign to Boost Domestic Tourism
One of the most exciting initiatives of POATE 2025 is the launch of the “Tell Your Story – Explore Uganda” campaign by the Uganda Tourism Board. This campaign encourages locals to share their travel experiences, inspiring fellow Ugandans to explore their own country. By leveraging personal narratives and digital storytelling, this initiative seeks to drive domestic tourism and create a deeper connection between Ugandans and their homeland’s natural wonders.
What to Expect at POATE 2025
The expo will bring together 70 international buyers, over 5,000 trade visitors, and a dynamic mix of exhibitors. POATE 2025 will highlight MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, a growing segment that positions Uganda as a prime destination for business events and corporate retreats.
