Nollywood actress Kiitan Bukola has candidly shared her fears about marriage, stemming from her childhood experiences and desire to create a stable home for her future children.

In a recent appearance on Biola Adebayo’s YouTube podcast, Talk to B, Kiitan reflected on her upbringing, revealing that she never experienced the love and care of both parents together.

A Childhood Without Fatherly Love

The actress disclosed that her fear of marriage is rooted in her own childhood. Growing up in a fragmented home, Kiitan explained that her father’s absence and lack of care left a lasting impact on her.

“I don’t have a father who cared how I wanted it. Like, I didn’t enjoy the love of father to mother together. So, it hurts me a lot,” she said.

She added that she never lived with both parents and doesn’t even know some of her father’s children, as her father has close to fourteen children.

Struggles with Marriage Perception

Kiitan shared her conflicting feelings about marriage. While she values the institution and dreams of providing her children with a loving, united home, she’s apprehensive due to her observations of both successful and troubled marriages.

“I love marriage, but I’m scared of it at the same time. I don’t want my children to grow up without fatherly care, or in a separate home,” she stated.

Her Ideal Partner

The actress described her ideal partner as someone understanding, prayerful, and supportive of her career in Nollywood. She also recounted a past relationship where her partner disrespected her profession by asking her to return money she earned from a job.

“I want someone I can call my best friend. Someone that will understand the difference between my job and our home,” Kiitan said. “I don’t want stress. My ideal man is very understanding and prayerful.”

A Hopeful Outlook

Despite her fears, Kiitan Bukola remains hopeful about marriage. Her openness about her past and aspirations reflects a desire to build a life of stability and love that she believes her children deserve.
