Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has hinted at stepping away from the music industry after the release of her next album. The 44-year-old made the announcement via her Instagram story on Saturday, leaving fans both surprised and emotional.

    A Farewell Album?

In her post, Tiwa Savage expressed feelings of exhaustion and hinted that her upcoming project might be her final studio album.

“This might be my last studio album. I am tired, I don try,” she wrote.

Although the Koroba crooner did not reveal the title or release date of the album, the news has sparked widespread speculation and anticipation among her fans.

From ‘Kele Kele Love’ to Global Stardom

Tiwa Savage rose to prominence in 2010 with her breakout single Kele Kele Love. Over the years, she has established herself as one of the most influential figures in the Nigerian and global music landscapes. Known for her powerful vocals and captivating stage presence, Tiwa has earned numerous awards and accolades, solidifying her legacy as a trailblazer in the Afrobeats genre.

    Reflections on Personal Struggles

Beyond her musical achievements, Tiwa Savage has also opened up about her personal struggles, particularly her divorce from ex-husband Tunji Balogun, popularly known as TeeBillz.

In an interview with The Receipts Podcast, Tiwa revealed that TeeBillz announced their divorce in 2018 while she was grappling with postpartum depression following the birth of their son.

“I didn’t break up with him. He announced the divorce while I was still dealing with postpartum depression,” she said.

Tiwa also reflected on how the public’s reaction to the breakup affected her, noting that she was unfairly blamed for the marriage’s failure.

“It was heartbreaking how people blamed me for the breakup. That’s how the ‘African Bad Girl’ came about,” she added, referencing her bold persona that emerged in the aftermath.

    Fans React

The news of Tiwa Savage’s potential retirement has triggered an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues in the music industry. Many have expressed gratitude for her contributions to music and urged her to reconsider, while others eagerly anticipate what could be a monumental final project.

    What’s Next for Tiwa Savage?

While Tiwa Savage’s hint at retirement marks the end of an era, it also signals a potential new chapter in her life. Whether this album is truly her last remains to be seen, but her influence on the Nigerian music scene and global stage will undoubtedly endure.
