Jose Chameleone’s Son Criticizes Grandparents and Friends Over Ailing Father’s Health

Abba Marcus Mayanja, the son of Ugandan music legend Joseph Mayanja, better known as Jose Chameleone, has publicly criticized his grandparents and his father’s close friends for failing to prioritize the singer’s health and well-being.

Chameleone, who was recently hospitalized in Kampala, is reportedly suffering from acute pancreatitis, a condition often linked to prolonged heavy alcohol consumption. Sources have also hinted at potential liver complications.

    Frustration Over Neglect

In a TikTok video, Abba expressed his frustration, accusing his grandparents of neglect and irresponsibility.

“Never in my life have I seen such unconcerned parents that are so careless about their children’s well-being,” Abba said. “You would expect my father’s parents to care about him the most, considering he gave them his name. No one in the country would know who the Mayanjas are if it wasn’t for my father.”

Abba extended his criticism to his father’s friends, accusing them of enabling harmful behavior instead of supporting Chameleone’s health.

“The people around my father do not care about his well-being. They just care about the monetary value. If his friends were truly his friends, my father wouldn’t be in this circumstance,” he added.

    Reflecting on Family Loss

Abba also blamed his grandparents for the untimely deaths of his two uncles, Emmanuel Mayanja (AK47) and Humphrey Mayanja.

AK47 passed away in 2012 after collapsing at a bar, while Humphrey succumbed to cancer in March 2023. “So far, I have already lost two uncles, and that’s because of the complete and utter irresponsibility of these people’s parents,” Abba stated.

    A Troubled Family Legacy

The Mayanja family, known for their musical contributions through siblings Chameleone, Weasel, and Pallaso, has faced consistent public criticism for their drinking habits and violent behavior.

Chameleone’s ex-wife, Daniella Atim, has also been vocal about her concerns. Daniella, who shares four children with the singer, has criticized the Mayanja siblings’ parents for enabling destructive behaviors and shielding their sons from accountability.

In 2022, after an incident where Douglas Mayanja (Weasel) was filmed assaulting his wife, Sandra Teta, while intoxicated, Daniella accused her mother-in-law of encouraging harmful behaviors by deflecting blame onto the women in their lives.

“Dear mama, this doesn’t bring any practical solutions. It only empowers them to continue what they do because in your eyes, it is always a woman’s fault,” Daniella said. “The time is now. Take back your position as a parent and start doing the work.”

    A Plea for Responsibility

Abba’s comments have reignited discussions about accountability within the Mayanja family and the broader impact of enabling harmful behavior. With Chameleone’s health now in the spotlight, critics and supporters alike are urging those close to the singer to prioritize his well-being.

Chameleone’s condition remains a concern for fans and family as they hope for his recovery and call for greater responsibility from those closest to him.
