After nearly three decades, Redman has finally dropped Muddy Waters Too, the highly anticipated sequel to his iconic 1996 album Muddy Waters. Released on Christmas Eve, this marks the New Jersey rapper’s first full-length project in almost a decade, following 2015’s Mudface.

    Star-Studded Collaborations

The 32-track album features an impressive lineup of guest appearances, including Method Man, Snoop Dogg, and KRS-One. Additional features include legendary names like:

    • Shaquille O’Neal
    • Queen Latifah
    • Naughty By Nature
    • Faith Evans
    • Sheek Louch
    • Kid Capri
    • Rah Digga

Singles from the album, such as “Jersey” and “Don’t Wanna C Me Rich,” have already created buzz among fans.

    Production Credits

Longtime collaborators Erick Sermon and Rockwilder return to handle much of the production. Redman also brought in Mike & Keys, Rick Rock, and Khrysis to round out the album’s sonic palette. Redman himself contributed to the production, ensuring the project stays true to his distinctive style.

    Redman’s Career Renaissance

Though Muddy Waters Too is his first album in years, Redman has remained active in TV and film. He had a recurring role in the Starz drama Power Book II: Ghost and starred in A Hip Hop Family Christmas.

    Reflections on Collaborations

Throughout his career, Redman has collaborated with a wide range of artists, but his work with Christina Aguilera on her hit song “Dirrty” stands out as a career-defining moment. During an interview with Red Bull’s Red Bull Spiral, Redman reflected on the impact of the collaboration:
“Christina is one of my favorite collabs. I got on the record, and after that, that shit took off. We was everywhere, bro. She brought me on tour; we was overseas. That album, [Stripped], was one of her biggest albums.”

Redman reveals that Christina Aguilera was one of his favorite collaborations and says he couldn’t believe he was paid over $250,000 from his first publishing check for their song "Dirrty," all for just one verse.

Redman also highlighted the financial boost he received from the collaboration:
“I got to actually see how a pop artist shakes and moves through this industry, and it’s another level than Hip Hop. My publishing check?! Oh my God! My publishing check, n**a?! I couldn’t believe I got that much money for one verse. It was over $250k my first check.”*

    A Legacy Reignited

Muddy Waters Too is more than just a sequel; it’s a celebration of Redman’s enduring influence on Hip Hop. Packed with features from iconic artists and backed by stellar production, the album blends nostalgia with fresh energy, proving that Redman remains a vital force in the music industry.

Fans and critics alike are hailing the project as a testament to Redman’s ability to evolve while staying true to his roots.
