Adanma Luke Reflects on Dark Times After Junior Pope’s Tragic Death

In related Nollywood news, film producer Adanma Luke has opened up about the emotional struggles she faced following the untimely death of actor Junior Pope. The actor tragically lost his life on April 10, 2024, in a boat accident on the River Niger in Asaba, Delta State, while on his way to a movie set. Four other crew members also perished in the accident, leaving the film industry in mourning.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Adanma described the profound impact of the tragedy on her mental health. She revealed experiencing severe depression, compounded by criticism from social media and the families of the deceased.

“It was indeed a very dark period for me. I had to stop breastfeeding my baby, who was less than three months old, due to the sadness in my heart,” she wrote.

    Finding Support During Dark Times

Despite the overwhelming grief, Adanma found solace in the unwavering support of Uche Nancy, a renowned movie producer.

“With so much tears in my eyes, I reached out to @uchenancy. She said, ‘Ada, don’t worry, I dey for you. Just let me know if there’s more to do, and I won’t abandon you.’ Her words lifted my soul at a time when I was contemplating suicide,” Adanma shared.

Uche Nancy not only offered financial assistance but also provided emotional support, encouraging Adanma to stay strong and focus on healing.

Adanma also detailed the dual impact of social media during this time. While her phone became her constant companion, it was also a source of pain due to the harsh comments she received. She acknowledged the love and support of fans who stood by her, offering kind words during her lowest moments.

    A Mother’s Protective Love

Amid the turmoil, Adanma’s mother stepped in to shield her baby from the emotional toll of her struggles.

“My mom took away my child to ensure I didn’t breastfeed with sadness. I stayed online to cry away my pains from the hurtful words thrown at me, finding some comfort in messages from good friends and fans,” Adanma revealed.

Gratitude and Hope for the Future

In closing her emotional post, Adanma expressed deep gratitude to Uche Nancy for her generosity and kindness.

“Please help me say a kind prayer for @uchenancy. She didn’t just offer financial support but also ensured I’m doing okay till now. I can’t end my 2024 without appreciating her. May God continue to bless this hardworking and beautiful woman richly.”
