Yomi Fabiyi Alleges Offer of Video Evidence Linked to Mohbad’s Death by Singer’s Brother

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has claimed that Adura Aloba, the younger brother of late Nigerian singer Mohbad (real name Ilerioluwa Aloba), offered to sell him a video allegedly showing a fight between the singer and his wife, Wunmi Aloba, before his death. Fabiyi made the allegations during a recent press conference in Lagos State.

Fabiyi’s Allegations: A Video of Mohbad and Wunmi Fighting

According to Fabiyi, Adura contacted him via social media, offering to sell a video for ₦3 million that purportedly captured an altercation between Mohbad and his wife. He claimed the video showed Wunmi pushing Mohbad down the stairs, which allegedly led to the singer falling, hitting his head, and injuring his neck.

“At about 4:23 pm, Adura Aloba, Mohbad’s younger brother, sent me a DM after listening to me for a while and reacting in the comment section. He then asked me to check my DM,” Fabiyi said.

Fabiyi further alleged that Adura tried to convince him by narrating how the incident led to Mohbad’s neck being bent, a detail he linked to observations made during the singer’s funeral.

    Fabiyi’s Petition to the Police

The actor disclosed that he reported the alleged conversation to the Lagos State Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID). However, he later learned that Adura was potentially being impersonated, raising doubts about the authenticity of the messages.

“I sent a petition to the Lagos State Police CID regarding my conversation with Adura. When I was invited, I was told that Mohbad’s brother might have been impersonated,” Fabiyi stated.

He added that his interactions with the police revealed a lack of harmonization in the investigation into Mohbad’s death, leaving critical questions unanswered.

    Mohbad’s Controversial Death

Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s Marlian Music, passed away in September 2023 under controversial circumstances. The singer had previously left the label, alleging breaches of contract and mistreatment.

His death sparked widespread public outcry, with fans and industry stakeholders demanding thorough investigations into the events leading to his demise.

    Public Reactions and Ongoing Investigations

Yomi Fabiyi’s claims have added another layer of complexity to the ongoing discussions surrounding Mohbad’s death. Social media reactions reflect a mix of skepticism and calls for transparency:

    • @Justice4Mohbad: “If these allegations are true, the authorities need to investigate this thoroughly. Too many unanswered questions.”
    • @NaijaTalks: “Yomi Fabiyi needs to provide more proof before making such bold claims.”
    • @AfrobeatsFan: “This whole saga is heartbreaking. Mohbad deserved better in life and death.”

    Final Thoughts

Yomi Fabiyi’s allegations about being offered video evidence related to Mohbad’s death underscore the controversy surrounding the late singer’s passing. As calls for justice and clarity grow louder, it remains essential for all parties to approach the situation responsibly, allowing law enforcement to carry out their investigations.

Mohbad’s legacy continues to inspire discussions about accountability, transparency, and support for artists navigating the challenges of the music industry.
