Jude Law had a slippery moment in Venice, Italy, and fans got it all on camera.
While attending the Venice International Film Festival (VIFF) to promote his new film The Wizard of the Kremlin, the British actor was spotted stepping off one of Venice’s iconic water taxis — only to take a hard fall.
In the viral clip, a woman steps off the boat ahead of him, and Law appears to misjudge the stairs. He stumbles, lands hard, but smartly uses his hands to prevent a face-plant, then pops right back up and steps off the dinghy unscathed.

Promoting The Wizard of the Kremlin
Jude is in Venice to promote his latest role, portraying Russian President Vladimir Putin in the adaptation of the 2022 novel.
The film, a fictionalized take on post-Soviet Russia, also stars:
- Paul Dano
- Alicia Vikander
- Jeffrey Wright
Law has been walking the festival circuit in recent days, attending premieres and events leading up to the movie’s debut.
No Injuries, Just a Bruised Ego
Despite the dramatic fall, Law seemed totally fine. No medical attention was needed, and he quickly recovered his composure — proving he can handle more than just political intrigue on screen.
Fans on social media had a laugh, joking that perhaps the Cold War-themed film inspired a literal cold fall.
Venice Water Taxi Woes
Venice is known for its charming yet tricky waterways, and stepping off a moving boat can be a challenge — even for seasoned actors. Law’s stumble is a reminder that even Hollywood stars aren’t immune to travel mishaps.
