Raven-Symoné’s Wife Claps Back: “I’m Richer Than Raven!”

Miranda Maday is making it crystal clear: she didn’t marry Raven-Symoné for money.

In a resurfaced clip from the couple’s podcast Tea Time with Raven and Miranda, Maday playfully fired back at long-running speculation about her relationship with the actress and former The View co-host.

“I didn’t marry Raven for money,” Maday joked. “I’m richer!”

The clip, which originally aired in June, quickly went viral this week as fans debated her bold response. While many saw it as a lighthearted clapback, others used it to reignite online chatter about the pair’s relationship dynamics — particularly around Raven’s decades-long success in Hollywood.

    Viral Reaction & Backlash

Not everyone laughed. Some fans accused Maday of being dismissive toward the Disney Channel alum.

“The emasculation of Raven-Symoné,” one person tweeted.

“Raven still can’t see the jealous, racist enemy right next to her. That is so sad,” another fan wrote.

The online criticism added to an already rocky relationship between Maday and certain corners of the internet — a history that Raven and her wife have been forced to address more than once.

    A Pattern of Scrutiny

This isn’t the first time Maday has faced backlash for comments about their marriage.

In a previous episode of Tea Time, Maday admitted she didn’t know the words to a Cheetah Girls song and revealed she didn’t grow up watching That’s So Raven — Raven’s most iconic Disney series. The internet pounced, with some fans questioning whether she truly appreciated her wife’s cultural legacy.

The criticism even escalated into death threats, prompting Raven to step in.

“I’m here with Miranda, my wife, to tell you to stop it in the comments. And stop with the death threats in her DMs,” Raven said at the time. “It is disrespectful to her, and in turn it’s disrespectful to me.”

    Miranda Responds to the Doubters

Maday later clarified her comments, explaining that while she didn’t grow up watching Raven on Disney Channel, she was well aware of her wife’s impact before they met.

“I hope to clear the air right now and let you all know that I never have once said that I did not know who Raven was,” she explained. “I only ever said that I did not grow up watching That’s So Raven. I did not watch her as a child.”

Since meeting Raven in 2015 and marrying her in 2020, Maday says she’s not only familiar with her wife’s work, but has supported her firsthand.

“Since getting married, I have seen the majority of her work. I have also been at a lot of this work — backstage at The View, 25 Words or Less, the list goes on and on.”

    The Bigger Picture

For fans, Raven-Symoné has been a fixture of pop culture since the ’90s, from The Cosby Show to Disney Channel superstardom. That visibility makes her marriage a constant talking point — especially when her wife openly addresses misconceptions.

Maday’s latest quip may have been tongue-in-cheek, but it once again highlights how heavily public scrutiny weighs on the couple’s relationship. Whether fans see her as a protective partner or as someone undeserving of Raven’s fame, one thing is clear: Miranda Maday isn’t afraid to clap back and stand in her truth.
