    After a self-imposed hiatus since 2022, Syd and The Internet are officially back, ready to breathe new life into their upcoming album. The Grammy-nominated band’s leader spoke with TMZ Hip Hop at LAX on Friday, confirming that fans can expect fresh music soon.

    “We’re back and it’s been so fun making this Internet album,” Syd said, describing the creative energy surrounding the project.

    Touring With Reneé Rapp

    Syd is currently joining Reneé Rapp on her 27-city “Bite Me Tour”, opening alongside Absolutely and Ravyn Lenae. The tour gives fans a first glimpse at new material, including Syd’s latest single, “GMFU (Got Me F*** Up),”** teasing the sound of the upcoming album.

    “This is the most fun I’ve had making an Internet album yet,” Syd told us, highlighting the band’s excitement and renewed energy in the studio.

    Steve Lacy’s Role

    Bandmate Steve Lacy, who shot to superstardom with his 2022 release “Bad Habits”, is also working on solo material while collaborating on The Internet’s new album. Syd shared that Lacy’s recent successes have boosted confidence in the studio, adding momentum to the group’s recording sessions.

    “We’ve been meeting up in LA in weekly chunks to finish the album, working around everyone’s schedules,” Syd explained.

    Fans can anticipate a project that balances individual artistry with collective genius, and Syd hints that it could be The Internet’s magnum opus.
