DDG is back with his second album of 2025, titled “moo”, and he’s using the rollout to make a public plea to ex Halle Bailey. The rapper is asking for peace in their ongoing custody battle for their 1-year-old son, Halo.

On the track “17 More Years,” DDG reflects on the challenges of co-parenting while navigating the legal system, emphasizing the limited time before Halo reaches adulthood and the unnecessary costs piling up from court battles.

“I don’t wanna fight no more, tired of the court dates / Lawyers getting over on us, watching money go to waste,” he raps, calling Halle a good mom and urging a civil resolution.

    Drama and Custody Battles

DDG and Halle’s breakup in October 2024 escalated online, especially after Halo appeared on Kai Cenat’s viral stream, leading to a temporary domestic violence restraining order filed against DDG.

Throughout the year, both parents exchanged allegations of physical and mental abuse, while also moving on with their personal lives—DDG starring in a dating show and Halle appearing publicly with a new partner.

Despite the tension, DDG makes it clear he’s happy for Halle with whoever she’s with and hopes the custody suit can be dropped so they can focus on celebrating Halo’s milestones together.

The album also features “No Dreads,” a collaboration with PlaqueBoyMax, where DDG touches on the growing power of streamers in music culture, signaling how platforms and personalities outside traditional rap are reshaping the industry.

“Streamers are surpassing rappers,” DDG told TMZ Hip Hop, reflecting the shifting dynamics in music promotion and fan engagement.

What’s Next for DDG and Halo?

As the album rolls out, fans are watching closely to see if DDG and Halle can find common ground for Halo’s sake. With heartfelt tracks and personal admissions, “moo” offers a glimpse into the rapper’s struggles, growth, and hopes for co-parenting peace.
