Memphis rapper Finesse2Tymes, born Ricky Leshay Hampton, was arrested in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on October 20, 2025, and booked into Harrison County Jail, according to jail records. The rapper, widely known for his hit single “Back End” and his signature Southern rap style, now faces a series of drug-related charges as well as a felony for tampering with evidence—a development that puts his career and freedom in jeopardy.

“The most severe charge involves tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, suggesting the rapper may have tried to conceal or destroy materials during the investigation,” authorities noted.

    Charges Against Finesse2Tymes

Court documents reveal that Hampton is facing multiple counts tied to possession of controlled substances, marijuana, and prohibited items inside a correctional facility. The substances allegedly in his possession span several penalty groups, ranging from ecstasy and hallucinogens to cocaine and fentanyl.

    Specifically:

    • Two charges under Penalty Group 2 for controlled substances.
    • Two charges under Penalty Group 1 or 1-B, involving high-risk narcotics such as cocaine or opioids.
    • Misdemeanor possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.
    • Possession of a “dangerous drug”, usually referring to prescription medications held without authorization.
    • Felony tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
    • Possession of prohibited items while in custody, treated as a separate felony in Texas.

No bond has been set, meaning Finesse2Tymes remains behind bars as the case develops.

Legal Troubles Cast Shadow Over Career

At 33, Finesse2Tymes has cultivated a reputation for turning personal struggles into music, often referencing his legal battles and redemption arcs in his lyrics. From gritty street anthems to introspective tracks, the rapper’s narrative has resonated with fans across the South and nationwide.

However, the current charges represent a major escalation, with multiple felonies potentially threatening his freedom for years. Legal analysts suggest that tampering with evidence charges are particularly serious and can significantly impact sentencing if convictions occur.

“With several felony counts and potential prison time looming, this case could be one of his most challenging battles yet,” a source familiar with the case told reporters.

    No Public Statement From Finesse2Tymes

As of now, neither Finesse2Tymes nor his legal team has issued a statement regarding the arrest. Fans have taken to social media to express shock, concern, and support for the rapper, reflecting the deep connection his audience feels with his music and personal story.

    Finesse2Tymes’ Past Legal Struggles

This arrest adds to a pattern of legal challenges in Hampton’s career, which he has often referenced in his music. Known for using personal setbacks as lyrical inspiration, Finesse2Tymes has built a fanbase that relates to his narrative of street life, mistakes, and redemption.

Still, with felony drug and evidence tampering charges now on the table, his path forward will be closely watched by fans and the industry alike.

What do you think about Finesse2Tymes’ arrest? Will this be a setback, or will he turn it into new music? Drop your thoughts below and stay tuned for updates!
