Bun B Reveals Emotional UGK Reconciliation Days Before Pimp C’s Death

UGK legend Bun B delivered a heartfelt reflection on his partnership with the late Pimp C during a recent sit-down with BHighTV. The interview revealed the duo’s approach to conflict, transparency, and how they reconciled just 48 hours before Pimp C’s untimely death, offering fans a rare glimpse into the personal side of one of hip-hop’s most iconic duos.

When asked if UGK ever reached a point where conflict seemed irreparable, Bun B was quick to dismiss the notion.

“I wouldn’t say that,” he explained, noting that while disagreements happened, they never threatened the integrity of UGK.

Honesty and Respect Kept UGK Strong

Bun highlighted that honesty was the backbone of their partnership.

“I saw things that I didn’t like, and I would vocalize that… and he would do the same,” Bun recalled, emphasizing that transparency never disrupted their shared mission.

Even as they released solo projects and lived in separate cities, the UGK bond remained unbroken, with life simply pulling them in different directions.

“We never argued like that. He would do the beats, I would do my verse… we always knew how to defer to different people in different situations,” Bun said.

    Reconciliation Just Days Before Tragedy

The most emotional segment of the interview came when Bun described clearing the air with Pimp C only two days before his death.

“All right, we on the same page about it. Let’s get back to it,” Bun remembered telling him.

The final exchange between the two now serves as a moment of peace and closure for Bun.

“I’m glad the last thing I told him was I love you. The last thing he told me was, ‘I love you too, Pee Wee.’”

    Lessons for Today’s Artists

Bun B emphasized that not everyone is lucky enough to reconcile before tragedy strikes. His advice to younger artists, like Turk and B.G., is both practical and poignant:

“Men have to be in a room alone… sit at the table across from each other, with the egos inside. Work through the pain while you still can. Don’t make up at the funeral.”

This candid insight underscores the importance of resolving conflict and cherishing relationships while there’s still time — a lesson many fans found both moving and inspiring.

Bun B’s reflections highlight that UGK’s legacy isn’t just about music, but the bond, loyalty, and respect that underpinned it. His story is a reminder of the humanity behind the legends of hip-hop.
