The opposition faced brutality, with both candidates and supporters subjected to physical attacks. Journalists, too, were not spared from the madness, as they were beaten and arrested in an attempt to prevent the exposure of election malpractices.
Despite these obstacles, there were reports of rigging at multiple polling stations aimed at skewing the results. The state’s efforts to suppress the truth by silencing journalists only highlighted their desperation to conceal the corruption.
However, God has proven victorious, and in the end, the truth prevailed, putting the wrongdoers to shame. Nalukoola’s victory is a testament to the perseverance of the people of Kawempe North and their unwavering determination for change, even in the face of adversity.
