Elon Musk is calling BS on Ashley St. Clair’s $40 million NDA story — flatly denying that the massive deal she says she rejected ever existed.
The Tesla CEO responded Wednesday to a TMZ post about St. Clair’s claim, offering a very different version of events.
“She was never offered that and has a history of making false claims,” Musk told TMZ.
That directly contradicts St. Clair’s account.
As previously reported, St. Clair said she turned down what she described as an eight-figure NDA because she didn’t want to surrender her ability to publicly discuss her relationship with Musk.
According to St. Clair, choosing not to sign meant preserving her freedom to tell her side of the story, including participating in the documentary Musk.
She has also spoken publicly about the relationship, including claiming during a June appearance on The Don Lemon Show that Musk initially contacted her by sliding into her X messages.
Now Musk is disputing the most eye-catching part of her story: the alleged $40 million offer.
St. Clair and Musk already have a contentious history playing out publicly, including a custody battle involving their son, Romulus.
The conflicting accounts over the alleged NDA add another layer to an increasingly public dispute.
St. Clair’s position is that she walked away from a huge payday to maintain the ability to speak openly about her relationship with Musk.
Musk’s position is considerably different: he says there was no $40 million NDA offer for her to reject.
For now, the two accounts remain directly at odds, and Musk’s latest comments put the ball back in St. Clair’s court over whether she will provide additional details or evidence supporting her claim.
The $40 million question is now the center of their latest public clash.
