Megan Thee Stallion is looking back on her relationship with Klay Thompson — and she says trying to make it work left her feeling like she was losing herself.
In an exclusive interview with InStyle, Megan reflected on the short-lived romance and admitted she never really felt comfortable in the relationship.
“I think I just kept trying to make pieces fit that didn’t belong, trying to fit myself into someone else’s life,” Megan said. “I was losing myself a little bit. I am now in the space of finding me again.”
The rapper also said she felt “on edge all the time,” suggesting the relationship had become emotionally uncomfortable rather than the happy partnership she wanted.
For Megan, one thing is apparently non-negotiable: respect.
She made it clear that she doesn’t believe a partner should disrespect her — and argued that being with someone like her should be appreciated, not taken for granted.
Megan also reiterated her stance on fidelity, appearing to reference her previous implication that Klay Thompson cheated during their relationship. She told InStyle that being faithful is “non-negotiable” for her.
That wasn’t the only standard she laid out.
Megan said she wants a genuine partner who can meet her as an equal — a 50-50 relationship rather than one where she feels responsible for propping up the other person.
Her message about infidelity was equally pointed: someone else’s decision to cheat, she said, should not make the person who was cheated on feel less attractive, important or worthy.
In other words, Megan isn’t putting the blame on herself.
The relationship with Thompson became public in 2025, when the NBA star was playing for the Dallas Mavericks. Their romance ultimately ended, and Thompson has since moved on professionally to the Miami Heat.
Now, Megan appears focused on something bigger than revisiting the breakup.
She’s trying to get back to herself — and with summer winding down, the Hot Girl isn’t exactly acting like she’s ready to sit around feeling sorry for herself.
