Megan Thee Stallion is looking back at her romance with Klay Thompson — and let’s just say she doesn’t sound like someone desperate to get back together.
The Houston rapper says she spent too much of the relationship trying to make something work that simply wasn’t fitting.
And according to Megan, the experience left her feeling “on edge all the time.”
“I think I just kept trying to make pieces fit that didn’t belong, trying to fit myself into someone else’s life,” Megan told InStyle. “I was losing myself a little bit. I am now in the space of finding me again.”
That’s a pretty blunt assessment of a relationship that once had plenty of celebrity buzz.
Megan’s message now appears to be less about Klay himself and more about what she expects from the next man who gets close to her.
Disrespect? Not happening.
The rapper made it clear she doesn’t believe she should have to tolerate being treated poorly by a partner — especially when she knows exactly what she brings to the table.
And then there’s the issue of loyalty.
Megan reiterated that fidelity is “non-negotiable” for her, reinforcing her previous implication that Thompson cheated during their relationship. She did not provide new details about any alleged infidelity in the interview.
Her philosophy is straightforward: if somebody cheats, that’s on the cheater — not the person who got cheated on.
Megan said infidelity shouldn’t make someone question their attractiveness, importance or worth.
But she also isn’t looking for a relationship where she’s constantly carrying the other person.
The superstar said she wants a genuine 50-50 partnership — someone who can stand beside her as an equal, rather than somebody she has to prop up.
That distinction appears to be especially important after what she says she experienced with Thompson.
Megan and Klay’s relationship became public in 2025 while the NBA star was playing for the Dallas Mavericks. The romance eventually fizzled, and Thompson has since moved on to the Miami Heat.
Megan, meanwhile, sounds focused on moving in the opposite direction — back toward herself.
After spending part of the relationship trying to squeeze herself into someone else’s world, she’s making it clear she’s done shrinking to make a romance work.
And with Hot Girl Summer still technically on the clock, Megan doesn’t sound like she’s planning to spend the final days of the season crying over Klay.
She sounds ready to be Megan Thee Freakin’ Stallion again.
