Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at 27.
Gerber died Sunday, September 20, at a rehab facility, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. An autopsy had not been completed as of TMZ’s report.
The Medical Examiner later said the investigation remains ongoing and that there is limited information currently available. Responding paramedics pronounced Gerber dead at 9:45 a.m. on September 20.
The Santa Monica Police Department is the law enforcement agency investigating the death.
Sources told TMZ that an overdose is suspected, but that has not been established as the official cause of death. The medical examiner has not announced a cause or manner of death.
A representative for Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber and Gerber’s sister, model Kaia Gerber, confirmed his death to TMZ.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the representative said.
Presley was the only son of Cindy and Rande Gerber. He followed his parents into the public eye and worked as a model.
His death comes years after a 2019 DUI arrest. Gerber was arrested in January of that year and later received three years of probation, along with an order to complete a DUI program and perform two days of community service.
Gerber’s death was confirmed at age 27 as his family mourns privately. The Medical Examiner’s investigation is expected to provide more information as it progresses.
For now, the official cause of death remains pending.
