Adam22 says his separation from Lena The Plug has not stopped the pair from working together—or even filming intimate content for business.
The No Jumper founder addressed the couple’s unusual relationship status during Tuesday’s, September 22, episode of the Wack & Adam Podcast, after co-host Wack 100 asked whether Adam22 and Lena were still making their Plug Talk podcast.
“I’m not sure how that’s going to go in the long term, but I will say that we filmed for scenes this week,” Adam22 said.
Wack then pressed him on how the two could be separated while continuing to spend time together and work on Plug Talk.
“You’re still having sex with her because it’s business?” Wack asked.
Adam22 laughed before offering his own description of where things currently stand.
“It feels more like we’re now in an open relationship,” he explained.
According to Adam22, he and Lena remain around each other frequently and are “still very, very close.” Their separation, however, has created more freedom for both of them to date or pursue relationships with other people.
Adam22 said he has been talking to women but indicated that nothing serious has developed on his side so far.
“Has not, personally, really, uh, taken part in that as of yet,” he said when discussing whether he had acted on that freedom.
The rapper and podcast host also described the relationship as gradually “slowing down” romantically rather than completely ending. He suggested that the new arrangement could ultimately bring the couple closer.
“I personally think in the long run that this will increase the chance of us spending the rest of our lives together,” Adam22 said. “And if it doesn’t, that’s ok.”
The comments come after Adam22 and Lena publicly announced their separation last week, adding another layer to a relationship that has long been intertwined with their work and Plug Talk brand.
Despite the separation, Adam22 said the pair remain closely connected, including professionally. Their latest filming also means their business relationship has continued even as they navigate a change in their personal relationship.
Meanwhile, Lena has continued generating attention of her own, including an appearance in Drake’s new “FOMO” visual.
For Adam22 and Lena, then, “separated” clearly does not mean completely disconnected—their personal and professional lives remain very much intertwined.
