Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman is pushing back against Chadwick Boseman’s brothers in the ongoing dispute over the late actor’s estate, saying she has provided millions of dollars to his family since 2022.
In newly filed court documents, Simone opposes Derrick and Kevin Boseman’s effort to remove her as administrator of Chadwick’s estate. She argues that her handling of the estate is consistent with what the actor wanted.
A major part of her response centers on financial support she says she has provided to Chadwick’s parents, Carolyn and Leroy Boseman.
According to Simone’s filing, she has paid them more than $1.7 million since 2022. She says that included a $1.5 million payment in May 2023, another $260,000 later that year and more than $4,000 in December 2024.
She also says she voluntarily gave $300,000 of her own money to Derrick Boseman’s children.
The financial details come as Simone fights a petition filed by Derrick and Kevin seeking to have her removed as the person overseeing their brother’s estate.
As previously reported, Chadwick’s brothers raised concerns about Simone’s ability to manage the estate and questioned her transparency regarding its finances.
Simone has rejected those concerns, arguing that she has been carrying out her responsibilities in accordance with Chadwick’s wishes. Her latest filing provides specific figures she says demonstrate the financial support she has extended to members of his family.
The dispute concerns the estate of an actor whose death in August 2020 shocked Hollywood. Chadwick died from complications of colon cancer after privately battling the disease for four years.
The latest court filing does not end the disagreement between the Boseman family members. Instead, it puts the competing claims over the management of Chadwick’s estate and the financial support provided to his relatives squarely before the court.
For Simone, the numbers are now a central part of her defense.
