Hollywood stuntman James Lew made sure his longtime profession had a place in his final wishes, leaving his Primetime Emmy Award to the Stuntmen’s Association, according to his newly filed will.
Legal documents obtained by TMZ show Lew signed the will in April, laying out how he wanted his property distributed among family members, friends and fellow stunt professionals.
One of the most notable gifts is his Primetime Emmy Award, which he left to the Stuntmen’s Association.
Lew also made a significant provision for his estranged wife, Jordanna. Although the documents say the couple were separated when he wrote the will, Lew left her his home in British Columbia.
The rest of Lew’s property and assets were divided equally among three friends and two of his siblings, according to the probate documents.
Those documents list approximately $440,000 in personal property. It is unclear from the filing whether Lew had any separate trusts.
Lew built a lengthy Hollywood career as a stunt performer and coordinator, with credits including Rush Hour, Star Trek and Lethal Weapon 4. His work made him a familiar name within the stunt community, and his decision to leave his Emmy to the Stuntmen’s Association reflects that professional connection.
Lew died in August following unspecified health issues.
Following his death, Jordanna paid tribute to him in an emotional message, imagining him reunited with loved ones and longtime figures from his life.
She wrote: “Honey, I imagine you walking the beach with Dudley, sparring with Bruce Lee and finally getting to hug your Dad again.”
She ended the tribute by calling him “James MF Lew” and saying he was loved and would be deeply missed.
Now, his will provides a clearer picture of where Lew wanted his belongings to go — from a treasured Emmy to a British Columbia home and the assets shared among the people closest to him.
